許多客戶問我,如何定義競爭對手?
我認為,首先要定義清楚你的客戶要「利用你完成什麼事」?
如果你開一家中式早餐店,你的客戶是利用你完成「吃早餐」這件事,所以你的競爭對手就不只是另一家中式早餐店,還包含同樣目的的西式早餐店、甚至麥當勞。
而原來麥當勞並不是早餐生意起家,他們以同樣可以達到「吃早餐」這件事,跨界來搶你的生意。
簡單說,你的競爭對手不只是跟你做一模一樣生意的企業,他可能從你沒想到的領域跑過來搶你的生意,這就是跨界創新。
跨界創新,都不是原來在這個領域起家的
電信商要利用「簡訊」完成「在手機上用文字聊天」這件事,而原來LINE與WECHAT並不是電信商起家,他們以同樣可以達到「在手機上用文字聊天」這件事,跨界來搶電信商的生意。
銀行要利用「存款業務」完成「把錢存起來可以生利息」這件事,而原來阿里巴巴的餘額寶並不是銀行起家,他們以同樣可以達到「把錢存起來可以生利息」這件事,跨界來搶銀行的生意。
跨界的,都不是原來在這個領域起家的,但是他們卻從另一個領域以前所未有的速度進入你的領域。這種跨界的創新與衝擊,你感受到了嗎?
許多人對於新興事物看不懂,甚至選擇讓自己看不見,危機來了,等你看見了可能來不及了。而且,你不敢跨界,別人也不敢嗎?
未來,是個跨界的世界。
